REV 18:2 AND HE CRIED MIGHTILY WITH A GREAT VOICE…”BABYLON THE GREAT IS FALLEN…IS FALLEN”
(TOWER 1)10:05 am 9-11-2001…”Is fallen.”
“IS FALLEN….”
(TOWER 2), 10:28 am 9-11-2001
Now before we continue, let’s go back, back further. Let’s look at the book of Nahum. David Koresh preached from Nahum, so vividly that those in Mt. Carmel, not only recognized those 16 tanks outside thier building as the fulfillment of those scriptures, but anticipated thier coming, years before they did so.
Victor Houteff Preached from Nahum, so vividly, that generations after his death, those who followed him in life, while maybe not entirely grasping his message, await him to return from the grave.
The first time I heard anyone make a “present day application” of prophetic teaching of the Bible, was from the book of Nahum. It was however not from the Branch Davidians. It was, from the Baptists, not the southern, but the independant fundamentalists. A deacon in our church, very much a student of the word, noted a couple years prior to Waco, that Nahum, seemed to be fulfilling itself. I don’t claim him to be right, nor Koresh or Houteff for that matter, nor do I seek to exhalt my own beliefs in the matter above, beneath or in collusion with any of the former. I do however note what I believe God has shown me of such matters, of which you will have to judge for your self as to correctness in present application.
Fred, during Desert Storm came to church excited one day over a bible study he was conducting for his own growth.
He was always doing so. I remember he could quite vividly detail, by detail, point you to an application of the structural components and ornamentsof the temple in the wilderness in relation to the person of and a “prophecy” of the coming of Christ, both 2000 years ago and beyond to our (then) current timespan. This was a couple of years before Waco. Oh his version of Nahum was different than what we hear of David Koresh and April 1993, and I am not here going to focus on endorsing or discount it either, but note an element of truth seemed present in what Fred offered. And at the time, well, it seemed quite profound. He noted that Historically, Iraq was once Assyria, and went to the prophecy of Nahum, to Ninevah, an Assyrian city. He noted passages in the book which pointed that the people of the land had the hearts of women, suggesting that the thousands of Iraqi soldiers who dropped thier guns and turned themselves over to the sight of almost a single American (perhap exaggerated for effect) was the actual fulfillment of passages in Nahum.
Nahum 2:8 – But Nineveh [is] of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, [shall they cry]; but none shall look back.
Nahum 3:13(a) Behold, thy people in the midst of thee [are] women:
He also pointed that Iraq had tanks they purchased from Russia whose armor was made of a highly Dense compressed fiber…WOOD FIBRE, and if ever they could possibly be set on fire…they would literally burn for days if not weeks. He supported his viewpoint here: “I will burn her chariots in the smoke”
Nahum 2:13 – Behold, I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
But while we did win that skirmish, I don’t recall tanks that burnt in such fashion, though I am sure quite a few burnt…And I must confess, I am sure Fred noted likewise as studious as he was, and it maybe that he pointed to such event as a near fulfillment, with expectations of a fully complete fulfillment, and in anticipation of “the Rapture.”
He noted that pretty much most of the world was (then) against Israel, and that America and Britian were always her defenders. He pointed to a passage of scripture in Ezekiel 38, and told me that “AMERICA…was prophecied in the old testament.”
I was like…”WHATTT???? Show me where…” He did,
He took me to Ezekiel 38, and showed me in such fashion, promoting the idea that ”The Rapture” had to be at hand as such events were to fulfill themselves according to that doctrine and interpretation of prophecy (one I now know to have been close, but incorrect) just prior to Christ establishing his Kingdom. He pointed this event in that timeframe as being the catalyst…I should note to you here that 2000 years ago, the Pharisees were of the same, and only at most one generation descended from those whose view of prophecy was so close that it stirred Herod’s heart to slay all the male children in the land under 2 years old.
Fred noted the army of Christ on Horseback, as that doctrines version taught, pointing to verse 15 and following as a timeframe when Christ would arrive. That doctrine teaches still that Jerusalem would be surrounded by the armies of the world, and would be near vanquihed when Christ would show up on the scene with an army on White horses all dressed in white raiment, and while that doctrine may have “some” elements of truth, they are mostly Fable, though Cunningly devised. The most popular doctrine of even the death of Christ, was devised by the Pharisees themselves prior to sending him to Calvary, to cover up their murderous plot, it was they who determined the view that God had sent Christ to die, such is recorded in your very bibles. Later the world would even cast his very name, Yeshua, to the ground as prophecied in Daniel, to replace it insultingly so, with an idolic Pagan namesake of reference, accusing Yeshua to have been sent of, or actually even be the greek god, Zeus. JESUS, literally means…”Healing Zeus.” Consider the Life of Christ 2000 years ago, the woman at the well, the leper, the blind man, Lazurus.
Anyway, where was I before that rabbit trail…? Oh yes, Fred.
After laying the ground work to promote the Rapture doctrine, as many in that denomination later held the private belief that “The Rapture” would have to occur in 1993, as most beleived in a set of “religious Numerology” that prompted the belief that “The Day of The Lord would occur in the year 2000″ and hence by logic, 2000, minus 7 years for their “Great Tribulation” another element of that interpretation would create a situation that the “rapture” could transpire NO LATER than 1993…after all God was bound by thier timelines and expectations right? I mean we wouldn’t want God to be late now would we? Oh sleeping virgins…wake up.
As I am on and on about the fallicy of that mainstream belief set, I should note what else Fred offered, things of a more factual, and true nature, things which actually excited him to see on some small level that Nahum was fullfilling itself nearly 2 years prior to 1993.
He illustrated the first 14 verses if Ezekiel 38…
Commentary on Nahum 1:1-8
About a hundred years before, at Jonah’s preaching, the Ninevites repented, and were spared, yet, soon after, they became worse than ever. Nineveh knows not that God who contends with her, but is told what a God he is. It is good for all to mix faith with what is here said concerning Him, which speaks great terror to the wicked, and comfort to believers. Let each take his portion from it: let sinners read it and tremble; and let saints read it and triumph. The anger of the Lord is contrasted with his goodness to his people. Perhaps they are obscure and little regarded in the world, but the Lord knows them. The Scripture character of Jehovah agrees not with the views of proud reasoners. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is slow to wrath and ready to forgive, but he will by no means acquit the wicked; and there is tribulation and anguish for every soul that doeth evil: but who duly regards the power of his wrath?
Commentary on Nahum 1:9-15
There is a great deal plotted against the Lord by the gates of hell, and against his kingdom in the world; but it will prove in vain. With some sinners God makes quick despatch; and one way or other, he will make an utter end of all his enemies. Though they are quiet, and many very secure, and not in fear, they shall be cut down as grass and corn, when the destroying angel passes through. God would hereby work great deliverance for his own people. But those who make themselves vile by scandalous sins, God will make vile by shameful punishments. The tidings of this great deliverance shall be welcomed with abundant joy. These words are applied to the great redemption wrought out by our Lord Jesus and the everlasting gospel, Romans 10:15. Christ’s ministers are messengers of good tidings, that preach peace by Jesus Christ. How welcome to those who see their misery and danger by sin! And the promise they made in the day of trouble must be made good. Let us be thankful for God’s ordinances, and gladly attend them. Let us look forward with cheerful hope to a world where the wicked never can enter, and sin and temptation will no more be known.
Commentary on Nahum 2:11-13
The kings of Assyria had long been terrible and cruel to their neighbours, but the Lord would destroy their power. Many plead as an excuse for rapine and fraud, that they have families to provide for; but what is thus obtained will never do them any good. Those that fear the Lord, and get honestly what they have, shall not want for themselves and theirs. It is just with God to deprive those of children, or of comfort in them, who take sinful courses to enrich them. Those are not worthy to be heard again, that have spoken reproachfully of God. Let us then come to God upon his mercy-seat, that having peace with him through our Lord Jesus Christ, we may know that he is for us, and that all things shall work together for our everlasting good.
Commentary on Nahum 3:1-7
When proud sinners are brought down, others should learn not to lift themselves up. The fall of this great city should be a lesson to private persons, who increase wealth by fraud and oppression. They are preparing enemies for themselves; and if the Lord sees good to punish them in this world, they will have none to pity them. Every man who seeks his own prosperity, safety, and peace, should not only act in an upright, honourable manner, but with kindness to all.
Commentary on Nahum 3:8-19
Strong-holds, even the strongest, are no defence against the judgments of God. They shall be unable to do any thing for themselves. The Chaldeans and Medes would devour the land like canker-worms. The Assyrians also would be eaten up by their own numerous hired troops, which seem to be meant by the word rendered “merchants.” Those that have done evil to their neighbours, will find it come home to them. Nineveh, and many other cities, states, and empires, have been ruined, and should be a warning to us. Are we better, except as there are some true Christians amongst us, who are a greater security, and a stronger defence, than all the advantages of situation or strength? When the Lord shows himself against a people, every thing they trust in must fail, or prove a disadvantage; but he continues good to Israel. He is a strong-hold for every believer in time of trouble, that cannot be stormed or taken; and he knoweth those that trust in Him.
This Study will resume Next Sabbath, Until then I invite you to read what Victor Houteff has to say on Nahum at this link:

Commentary
Prophecy is often “Dual” in nature. When Christ prophesied the destruction of the temple 2000 years ago and other events. He spake from the book of Daniel whose prophecies had at least partially shortly after Daniels time from about 500- 550 BC. But his use of the prophecies of Daniel were of practical application to the present condition of the Jews in his day.
While there is a historical interpretation of the Book of Nahum, the interpretation offered here is practical in nature as it applies to our time, today.
Chapter 1 VS 1—Nahum brings God’s message to Judah to comfort them shortly before Babylon invaded and defeated the Assyrian empire carrying the Jews into captivity. He foretells of Nineveh’s coming destruction.
1 vs 2 God is jealous—a matter of vengeance ( cross reference “the Lord revengeth, the Lord revengeth” with “is fallen, is fallen” in Revelations 18.)
There are TWO matters here to be noted in application, one A matter of VENGENACE…this will be
addressed in further detail in the AUG 8, 2008 continuation of this Message,
The same passage will illuminate another matter… A MATTER OF JEALOUSY.
YOU see, 2000 years ago YESHUA was crucified. Later, prophecies of Daniel would be fulfilled
which stated a timeframe when the name of GOD would be cast to the ground. In his ministry
David Koresh illuminated to the point that JESUS Christ was A PAGAN NAME, a reference to
the Greek “god of lightning…ZEUS.” JE’SUS CHRISTOS, (HA ZEUS) literally means
“HEALING ZEUS, THE ANNOINTED ONE”, now here in Nahum, you will find a time when
“NO MORE OF THY MESSENGERS WILL BE HEARD” and likewise in REVELATIONS 18, when this study
continues, you will see a timeframe where “NO MORE OF THY NAME BE SOWN” a matter
of Jealousy persists.
Here we see 9-11 again in Prophecy, as we did with Revelations 18, which focused on NY, here we see Focus on Washington DC, note that in both Revelations 18 and here in Nahum, only 2/3 or more of the passages were fulfilled, there are events in each…yet to come.
1 vs 3 the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm – the whirlwind is a reference to Elijah – see II Kings chapter 2 and the clouds are the dust of his feet. The Storm references The Son of man, a prophecy in Exekiel 38, Cross reference with Thessalonians chapter 4 vs 16 and 17.
You Know here we will skip ahead for abit, You see everyone is expecting Christ to come in the Clouds…here we see one whom the clouds are the very dust of his feet…look at what verse 15 says here in chapter one…
“Nahum 1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace!”
Sure I have no doubt the Bible Records Christ will come in the clouds…but I ask you, Have you ever walked in the clouds?
I have, many others have, and had the clouds to be the very dust of thier feet…ever go camping, stand on a mountaintop early in the morning? What did you see at your feet, did you notice Clouds?
Inevetablly some will throw Acts Chapter one at me here, citing Christ’s Ascension, and pointing that verse 10 said he would come back in like fashion…but they overlook that even the disciples misunderstood this and had to be corrected nigh immediately, the truth is, what was said is
“ 9: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10: And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11: Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
“AS YE HAVE SEEN HIM GO INTO HEAVEN.” Well, in what manner? What did they witness? They didn’t see a Descension…they witnessed an Ascenscion, They saw Christ Ascend through the life of mortal flesh and enter into Heaven. There is more here about Paul, but we will have to address that at another time. What is important, is The Disciples Did not need two witnesses to tell them Jesus was coming back…they needed two witnesses to tell them HE WASN”T COMING BACK IN THE TIMELINE AND FASHION THEY EXPECTED HIM TO!
And yet you have denominations across the land, standing, gazing, looking in awe to the clouds….you think they might learn by example of the very Disciples.
1 vs 4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: cross reference this with “ And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days…….These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.” Revelations Chapter 11 vs, 4-6
Bashan languisheth, cross reference this with Psalms Chapter 22 vs 12, a messianic reference to the persecutors of God’s chosen vessel. and Carmel,A place called Carmel also languisheth, Carmel was the mountain upon which Elijah held the trial of Fire with the priests’ of Baal. and the flower of Lebanon languisheth. Also a messianic reference, One of the names of Christ is also a flower, “the lily of the Valley.” And we see this individual, has power to dry up rivers and ocenas.
6 – Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 – The LORD [is] good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8 – But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
1 vs 8 “an overrunning flood…” –Judgement which will affect the entire world. Cross reference with Revelations chapter 18 verses 3 and 9. Note in verse 5, the mountains “quake at him,” 2000 years ago, we see one who demonstrates the power to control the very winds of heaven, Here in Nahum we see one of whom the mountains quake, the hills melt, and the earth burns…interesting…drought, earthquakes and global warming…hmmm, interesting that this indvidual should be able to effect the enviroment in such a fashion….Zecheriah 14 records of Christ that those who do not go up to see him…where? In the moutnaintop, those who do not pay respect, he will deny them rain for thier crops…he will effectively
scorch the earth they live in, as thier nations, thier lands will get no rain, they will not be able to grow crops….
10 – For while [they be] folden together [as] thorns, and while they are drunken [as] drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
11 – There is [one] come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
13 – For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
14 – And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, [that] no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
keep the munition, watch the way, make [thy] loins strong, fortify [thy]
power mightily.
2 – For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
3 – The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men [are] in scarlet:the chariots [shall be] with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
16 of them (tanks) to be exact. They lied when they said Delta force was not involved
as at least 10 operatives were on the grounds. They later lied about the capacity of
those which came forward, and that they actually contributed to the siege. The valiant
men of Modern Israel, are in scarlet attire…Ft. Bragg is home of the Delta Force, it is also
home of the pride of the army, the 82nd airborne…

2 vs 3 “shall be with flaming torches…” in 1993,
as I watched the events unfold at Waco through news broadcasts, there was a broadcast in
which the media tried to vilify David Koresh and the Branch Davidians in which they showed
a young girl who had left the Branch Davidian Church and tried to coerce her dissidence to
illustrate their spin doctoring, at one point in the interview after asking her to confirm reports
of multiple wives and children by the same of David Koresh, they asked her what she thought
about the events taking place as the “compound” was in a standoff at that point for some time,
she hesitated and said “it’s happening, just like he said it would, he showed us this in the Bible,
and it’s happening exactly how he said it would, I can show you…” and they cut her off. What
captivated my attention most was not the fact that they cut her off, as it was obvious that their
interest were starting to be compromised, but it was the look in her eyes. I grew up in churches,
went off to Bible College, served in the church, when she said “it’s happening just like he said it
would” I saw the look in her eyes, she was haunted. She was a dissident, an opposing viewpoint
by her own exodus from the Branch Davidian Church, but she was haunted by a truth she
could not escape.
I would tell friends, “there is something more to this Guy, he is either Christ or the
Anti-Christ, we’ll know in seven years…” Seven years later, my life would change forever.
Victor Houteff saw these Chariots in verses 3 and 4 as automobiles, and tanks,
Koresh likewise,
look again at verse 3
” the chariots [shall be] with flaming torches in the day of his preparation,
and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken. “
http://www.fas.org/irp/threat/missile/naic/012-1.jpg
Look here, do you see a flaming torch? Imagine the photo upside down…
http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/weapons/missiles/icbm.jpg
4 – The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one
against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches,
they shall run like the lightnings.
“They shall seem like torches”
“They shall seem like lightnings “
5 – He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk;
they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
“Shall recount his worthies”
http://www.workers.org/ww/2001/spain1213.php
When they figure this out, they are going to make haste to build a defense,
but it will be too late. And at that time…A male leader (President) will face the
disloyalty of his allies, leaving him to his own, as they will break their allegiances
…already we witness the foreshadow of such events
6 – The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
7 – And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her
maids shall lead [her] as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
8 – But Nineveh [is] of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away.
Stand, stand, [shall they cry]; but none shall look back.
Note the reference here to a FORMER kingdom in relevance to the fulfillment
of the prophecy given….the reference to “NINVEH OF OLD”
9 – Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for [there is]
none end of the store [and] glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
10 – She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth,
and the knees smite together, and much pain [is] in all loins,
and the faces of them all gather blackness.
Here you see the Palace in Babylon overthrown…google Sadaams Palace and
see what goodies were taken out of there…
11 – Where [is] the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions,
where the lion, [even] the old lion, walked, [and] the lion’s whelp, and none
made [them] afraid?
A question is asked…where is the dwelling of the Lions (English/British)? and the
feeding place of the Young lions (the heirs, constituents…colonies of the British empire)?
It is, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! that is where. Verse 12, points a past/present
picture of the USA, verse 13 paints a Present/Future picture…
12 – The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled
for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
13 – Behold, I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her
chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut
off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers
shall no more be heard.

thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the

6 – And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set
thee as a gazingstock.
7 – And it shall come to pass, [that] all they that look upon thee shall flee
from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence
shall I seek comforters for thee?
8 – Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers,

You should superimpose a map of Ninevah, between the Great Zab

almost Identical…likewise consider that the history of the USA has us with
Ramparts on our shore of arrival, our eastern seaboard, and our western seaboard
well some of you are in California…there is no walled coastline here on the east coast,Perhaps at is northernmost points but not so as to define it…
what about the western

11 – Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength

12 – All thy strong holds [shall be like] fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be

15 – There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall

make thyself many as the locusts.

18 – Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell [in the dust]:
thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth [them].
A land of sleeping shepherds…scripturally ignorant spiritial leaders, creating
sleeping flocks…Christ speaks on a time when “ALL shall be asleep” and a
voice is sent with the call to awaken…such can be found in the parable
of the Ten Virgins.
19 – [There is] no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear
the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy
wickedness passed continually?
Note the bruise is mentioned…in Revelations 13, we see a beast who recieves
a deadly wound to it’s head, one which is miraculously healed….but, even
wounds leave scars and bruises…should God forget Waco in 1993? I think
not…on that note, I point you to a past study,
Noting that by perspective, this prophecy does more speaking to the Wicked
during a time of Judgement, and some to the righteous, while Revelations 18,
does more speaking to the Saints of God, while some to the wicked…
1 – Woe to the bloody city! it [is] all full of lies
[and] robbery; the prey departeth not;
2 – The noise of a whip, and the noise of the
rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses,
and of the jumping chariots.
THIS STUDY WILL BE CONTINUED IN the Sabbath Study to be posted on AUGUST 8th and 9th, 2008.
